PROMOTING LPN
Promoters: The backbone behind the band's expansion

Thank you for your interest in becoming a promoter for LEE PRESS-ON AND THE NAILS. We welcome you enthusiasm. You can be a very important member of the LPN team by promoting in many ways.

WHAT IS A PROMOTER?
A promoter is a person who furthers the impact and reach of LPN. There are several levels of promotion:

  • Booking the band on a tour
  • Getting the band into new clubs and cities
  • Securing interviews on TV and radio
  • Aids in the overall booking and public relations of the organization.

  • TYPES OF PROMOTERS:

    1. There are professional promoters who already have existing contacts and networks. These people may be actual agents, talent buyers, festival and fair coordinators or event planners.

    2. There are "niche enthusiasts" who are party and club go-ers. They might have, or be in, a group of people who share the same interest and have influence over their particular "scene." Many professional promoters start off their promotion career here.

    3. There are fans who really, just want to help and spread their excitement to their friends.

WHAT ARE YOU? ...AND HOW CAN YOU BE A PART?

  • If you are a professional or niche enthusiast, then you know the local club booking agents, other club promoters and planners. As a promoter for LPN, you will secure dates at different clubs or events. Event planners usually charge a flat fee, get a fee from the club, or they add 10% to 20% on top of what the band makes. Promoters also help secure interviews with the local media so that the local press helps inform the community and therefore the attendance increases at the shows and everyone wins. Please contact PAT TOWNSLEY, LPN's exclusive agent to discuss what you can do and what you need to do it.
  • If you are a fan, then we welcome your "pro bono" (non-paid) assistance in telling your friends to pick up a copy of the LPN albums and attending the shows, and DO THE FOLLOWING:

  • THINGS YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW TO HELP:

  • Call, write and email your local radio stations and request LPN songs (and direct the station Program Director to check out the LPN web site and contact LPN for radio promotional discs for air).
  • Contact newspapers and special interest magazines in your area so that the writers contact LPN for CD and show reviews.
  • Start an LPN fan club, or sound off on The LPN/Yahoo Fan Club.

    NOTES TO PROMOTERS:

  • LPN is generally booked two full months in advance for tours.
  • The band tours internationally.
  • The band is 10-piece. They don't scale down.
  • Yes, they do weddings. No they don't do dining and cocktail music.
  • The band is a headlining act, but will consider tour support for other major headliners.
  • Tour routing must be in a logical, linear progression. Backtracking is not preferred.
  • Tours generally have 5 to 14 dates in them. "Dark" or off nights every sixth night are recommended.
  • No more than 7 hours drive between venues.
  • Promoters arrange routing, negotiate contracts, set up rooms and travel (in most cases).
  • One-time booking "finder's fees" available on a per-case basis.
  • Touring is expensive for LPN. Shows need to make common sense.

  • Additional special thanks to fan and Official LPN Promoter "LEEZA" for her hard work and feature on LPN "The Life of a Madman." A tender segment only Leeza could bring her caring and insight. Lee & Leeza, what a team...and a great live performance on the show.
